And by 'us', I mean 'me', since I'm the guy who brings it to you. My awesome wife Margaret helped a bit, too.

My name is Roger Martin, and I have over 14 years of industry experience in software development, architecture, and Microsoft Office products. My company Tech Info Systems provides custom software development services for corporations, governments, and other organizations. Tech Info Systems is a registered member of the Microsoft Partner Program and I am a Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD).

Although I spent countless hours as a kid writing programs for my Commodore 64 (and burning through three of them in the process), I mysteriously studied Mechanical Engineering at University of Wisconsin in Platteville, receiving a BS in 1995. After graduating, I left the Dairy State to live in Boulder, CO. I spent the first few years as a Manufacturing Engineer, but my love of computers motivated me to study Visual Basic, and eventually I transferred into the IT department as an Applications Programmer.

When .NET was released in 2002, I fell in love! C# soon became my language of choice, and I've been neck deep in .NET, C#, SQL Server, XML and a bunch of other technologies ever since.

After marrying Margaret in 2003, we decided to move near Margaret's home town of Sonoma, CA. While there are many wonderful things to love about northern California, the cost of living is not one of them. We re-evaluated our priorities in life, and decided to move to Wisconsin. We ended up moving into the large ranch home of my childhood, near the end of a dead end road in the country. A large lake is across the road, a restored prairie lies in the backyard, a nearby woods offers secluded walks, and frogs and fish in the backyard pond and stream provide endless entertainment.

I spend my days alternating between fulfilling programming contracts through Tech Info Systems, improving Gallery Server Pro, playing with my son Skyler (born Feb 2008), and pursuing quirky interests like home brewing and prairie burning.
